LA AGRUPACIÓN TROPICAL COLOMBIANA MÁS GALARDONADA
En mayo de 1996, sale al mercado mundial el proyecto musical Alquimia, La Sonora del XXI, proyecto basado inicialmente en las obras magistrales de la decana de las orquestas, la mundialmente famosa Sonora Matancera, con un concepto innovador, vistoso y un excelente sonido. En poco tiempo, Alquimia rompió records en el mercado latinoamericano en cuanto a conciertos y ventas discográficas, superando las 2 millones de copias vendidas, recibiendo discos de oro y platino en Colombia, México, Perú, Venezuela, Estados Unidos y Puerto Rico, además de importantes reconocimientos. En el año 2014, es nominada a los premios Latin Grammy en la categoría Mejor Álbum Tropical Tradicional con su álbum "Sentimiento Anacobero", en donde participaron reconocidos vocalistas de nuestro país como Juan Carlos Coronel, Charlie Zaa y Willie García. Desde sus inicios, Alquimia, La Sonora del XXI ha realizado 10 producciones.

Celio Gonzalez Adam Ascencio (* Camajuaní, Cuba), January 29, 1924 - † Mexico City, October 17, 2004). Hot Cuban singer, known in the musical as "Cuba's Satan," "El Flaco de Oro". His time was the most prodigious Sonora Matancera.
His artistic beginnings were encouraged by her mother, and that protected by the inherited disease called phocomelia, which caused birth without two fingers and toes. As a child he helped his mother to the sale of handicraft items.
Participated in the contest of the Supreme Court held in Sancti Spiritus Arts.
